Emirates expects a high number of passenger departures from Dubai this coming weekend.

Customers starting their journey in Dubai are requested to arrive early at the airport. As many travellers depart from and arrive in Dubai.

UAE's flag carrier Emirates expects busy weekends ahead of and during Eid Al Fitr holidays. Traffic congestion is expected around Terminal 3 entrances during this period; the carrier urged customers departing from Dubai to build in extra time for their journeys to avoid potential delays.

The busiest dates for departures in Terminal 3 will be on March 28th and 29th, and on April 5th and 6th, with more than 80,000 daily customers making their way abroad for holidays.

Traveling for Eid Al Fitr in Dubai can be exciting but comes with several challenges. One major issue is heavy traffic and crowds. Dubai International Airport (DXB) experiences a massive surge in travellers before and after Eid, leading to long queues at check-in, security, and immigration.

Road traffic in popular areas like Downtown Dubai, Deira, and Jumeirah becomes congested, while public transport, including the metro, buses, and taxis, is often packed.

Another challenge is the high cost of travel during this period. Airfares rise sharply as residents travel home or go on vacation, while hotel prices also surge due to increased demand. Car rentals and taxis may become more expensive, and availability can be limited.

Additionally, long waiting times and limited availability can make planning difficult. Hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues often get fully booked in advance, and public transport faces overcrowding, with ride-hailing apps like Uber and Careem imposing surge pricing.

The weather conditions add another layer of difficulty. Since Eid often falls close to summer, the hot and humid climate can make outdoor activities uncomfortable, requiring travellers to stay hydrated and use sunscreen.

Lastly, the shopping rush and overcrowding can be overwhelming. Popular malls like Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates become packed with shoppers taking advantage of Eid discounts, making it difficult to move around and find parking.
